The Principal of Blue Team Consulting is Bob Waugh APM, formerly a Superintendent with the Queensland Police Service with extensive experience in operational planning, incident management, counter terrorism and exercise management.
Bob was the Operational Planner and Operations Coordinator for the 2014 G20 Leaders’ Summit in Brisbane and the G20 Finance Ministers Meeting in Cairns. Prior to that he has significant experience in high risk operations as the commander of the QPS Specialist Response Branch (including SERT, Bomb Squad and Negotiators) being responsible for the response and management of numerous high risk incidents across Queensland from 2001 to 2010. He was also the Tactical Capability Advisor to the National Counter Terrorism Committee (NCTC) from 2002 to 2010 being responsible for the capability development of the national police tactical groups in counter terrorism tactics.
He has managed or evaluated a range of exercises to test or practice policing responses to acts of terrorism, across Australia and New Zealand. He has been requested to review operations across a number of police jurisdictions.
He was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2004 to study command and control of high risk situations and responding to suicide bombers. A more detailed CV is available on request.
